Celebrate The Small Things - Godzilla Costume

I've been working on painting my son's Godzilla costume for Halloween.  I had to paint several layers to get rid of the green.

This is the image of the store-bought costume:

Below is what it looked like after a layer of black fabric paint. You can still see some of the green showing through:

This is my work-in-progress:

My husband made alterations to the brow, nose, and teeth.

I don't have a picture of the final product because the costume is not complete, yet. My husband is going to velcro fins on its back that light up and make the mouth light up.

I am celebrating the fact that I finished the painting. It's small compared to what my husband is going to do, but painting was back-breaking work! My son helped me with the painting, but I still had to go over it all. It took 3 days. After a major leg workout the day before the second day of painting, I was in pain! My back was sore from leaning over the costume for hours and my legs and butt were sore from the workout. But my son was so happy that the costume was looking more like Godzilla that he hugged me. He is a major Godzilla fanboy, so he is very excited about wearing this costume for Halloween. It'll all be worth it.

Now I have to work on my Mothra costume... No writing done this week, I guess.
